Greetings from the Philatelic SuperSite and Congratulations on surviving the dreaded Y2K!

It isn't too late for one more New Years Resolution:

JOIN A STAMP CLUB

Stamp collecting can be a very personal and cerebral experience….just me and my collection in peace and quiet.

It can also be a great social and collective experience…..meeting interesting people (and some real characters), learning from others and sharing your ideas and knowledge.

This month I will review a few of the better Stamp Club websites. I hope at the end you will be stimulated to peruse your own collecting interest through affiliation in a stamp collecting organization, international, national and/or local.

The starting point on the SuperSite is the clubs index

Here you will find links to website of several major national and international clubs, plus links to the a few country/region specific pages; USA, Great Britain, Australia, Scandinavia, and Specialty Clubs.

American Philatelic Society (APS) presents a superior website for content. It really has it all, from information about the organization, to articles from its monthly publication, show info, dealer listings, the Philatelic Library, sales circulars……..all presented in the most user-friendly manner….no high-tech half-hour downloads and lots of content.

The Andorran Philatelic Study Circle is another superior example of what a stamp clubs website can be. Take a delightful tour of this most interesting country/municipality of Europe. You will find articles from their publication, Valira Torrent, dealing with history, culture and topicals….all based on the stamps and cancellations of Andorra. In both French and English

Milton Stamp Club is an example of what your local club's website could look like. I put this website on the SuperSite as a service to the local club of Milton, Ontario, Canada and offer it as an example of your basic information site. Looking for a club to join in your area? It is just one page with a bit about the club, meeting and show information, and contact information if you live in Milton and would like to join.

Use the SuperSite Club listing to find a local club to join, or to offer SuperSite visitors information about how to join your club. To get listed, just email me

WHAT'S NEW?

New links, that what. I am continually finding new links of interest to collectors, and promptly add them to the proper page within the SuperSite, often never to be found again unless you have a specific interest and seek out that page.

So I have added a listing of new links. Each link that is added to the SuperSite is first placed on the new-listings page, where it remains for a few months. Stop by every so often to see what is new. When the page gets to full to download quickly (usually about 100 new links) I drop off the bottom 50 and continue adding new links. Of course, the links remain on the proper listing page as long as they are active links. Do you have a link that should be added? Send me an email me

THANKS!

Thank you for your support of the SuperSite, your comments and link suggestions are a big help in maintaining and improving the website, which is proving to be a popular source on the www for stamp collectors around the world.
